CONNECTION TO PILSEN:

We are celebrating the release of Beyond Heaven: Chicago House Party Flyers, Volume III with a weekend long exhibition and programs including a signing by author Mario "Liv It Up" Luna who grew up in Pilsen and a roundtable discussing the history of party crews hosted by Luis Gabriel Aguilera, a member of Pilsen-centric Ultimate Party Crew. We are being hosted by La Esquina, a newer cultural center who host art and photography workshop for the community.

ARTIST BIO/STATEMENT:

Almighty & Insane Books is a platform to examine/preserve history and culture from Chicagoland by working with artists and archives to create printed publications. Beyond Heaven is a series of books dedicated to cataloging house music flyers from the collection of Mario "Liv It Up" Luna.
