About the Event

Explore identity and culture while using clay and drawing materials.

This is a FREE 3-week workshop brought to us in collaboration with Illinois State University and The Resurrection Project. Each class meets on Wednesdays from 2pm-4pm.

Week 1 -  Learn about different artists and discuss topics on identity in art.  We will continue with drawings of self-portraits emphasizing our characteristics, facial features, and details included in the drawings that we most identify with.

Week 2 - Use clay to turn the drawings into mini head busts. Keeping things going with discussion on identity and working with our clay head busts. We will explore and focus on typography and have participants mold their initials and additional items to place on top of their initials and head bust.

Week 3 - Finish up final touches on the completed head bust.
