I was adopted from a group home/orphanage in Celaya, Gto , Mexico named the Casa. When I was in high school, I had the opportunity to go for a month long stay at the Casa as part of a senior class project. This visit was monumental in formulating my world view and represents a transformative part of my life. After this trip, I continued to visit the Casa yearly. The majority of my prints and photographs are of the children and adults from the Casa. Over the years, I’ve seen the children turn into teenagers and young parents. The Casa no longer exists, however, I still have a strong connection to many of the people there. It was during these trips that my artwork transformed into more elaborate and ornate drawings, which I continue today. I am currently working on lettering as my focus. My hope is to create larger scale work and murals.
